The ANVIL Suite
Organizations worldwide depend on the collection and timely interpretation of information to be effective. These mission-critical processes are typically supported by large teams of analysts who must collect, process, and analyze data on a regular basis to support the organization. These routine information management and analysis tasks often represent a substantial investment of time and resources. As organizations scale, these processes — especially those which involve manual, repetitive, human-scale tasks — increasingly constrain the speed and effectiveness of information management, analysis, and decision-making.
ANVIL is a platform for enhancing and accelerating information management workflows, enabling organizations to invest their time and resources to greater effect. ANVIL accelerates traditional data analysis and synthesis by automating routine tasks, delivering fast, reliable, and consistent results. Fundamental tasks such as data collection, parsing, and formatting can be automated with ease. Furthermore, unlike closed monolithic systems that are designed to replace — not augment — existing workflows, ANVIL is designed from its foundations as an open and modular ecosystem which can seamlessly integrate best-of-breed capabilities from any vendor.
ANVIL makes it easy to employ Machine Learning to accelerate common data analysis tasks such as revealing important relationships between entities, identifying trends and making predictions for key variables, and providing analysts with powerful new mechanisms for exploring data and synthesizing derivative intelligence products. With DevSecOps principles at its core, ANVIL provides a means to accelerate the adoption and deployment of modern “Big Data Analytics” capabilities into any environment.
Platform Components
crucible
Crucible is the heart of the ANVIL platform. It enables readers, analysts, managers, and executive decision makers to create, assign, manage, and produce work products with ease. Crucible’s workflow engine seamlessly collects Information Lifecycle, Case, Sensitivity, and Releasability metadata as each user goes through their journey in ANVIL. Completed work products get stored in the Armoury, enabling the re-use and traceability of all products.
Conveyor
A highly scalable data collection, extract, transform, load (ETL), and orchestration platform that handles, file, database, streaming, API, and adhoc workloads. Conveyor also handles automated machine learning workloads including model deployment and model retraining. Conveyor‘s web-based UIs give a single pane of glass view into all enterprise data flows.
Armoury
A petabyte scale graph + document + tabular datastore that enables analysts to publish products and supporting documents from workspaces, and enables the integration of 3rd party, partner, and in-house data sources into one singular view in the enterprise.
Alchemy
A suite of data enrichment tools that include Named Entity Recognition (NER), geocoding, reverse geocoding, transcription services, pattern recognition and related capabilities that can be called on demand by an analyst or embedded into Conveyor workflows. Alchemy can also host custom vendor or client provided models and integrate them into the enrichment workflow.
Welder
ANVIL’s CI/CD pipeline designed to integrate hotfixes, custom features, and new releases of ANVIL on disconnected/isolated networks. Welder packages are deployed using industry standard CI/CD tooling and ensure that environments across air gaps maintain consistency and reduce the burden on IT support resources.
FORGE
ANVIL Forge enables analysts to visually explore complex networks of relationships between people, places, and things.
Forge provides vector-based map tiles for interacting with and interrogating geospatial data. It can be configured for various geopolitical, localization, and topographical use cases.
Quartermaster
Quartermaster is the engine that runs reporting workflows over all of the ANVIL platform. It isolates and reports on duplicate data, non-compliant data, data approaching the end of its lifecycle, and data with conflicting classification or sensitivity markings. Quartermaster also identifies and isolates contradictory data and downstream affected products.
Carbon
A data science workbench designed to work within workspaces and in ANVIL’s Armoury. It includes standard data science packages and custom integrations with Armoury‘s services and data.
Smithy
ANVIL Smithy is a self-contained ANVIL Deployment designed to be installed on bare metal. Based on industry standard Kubernetes orchestration and common storage technology, the entire ANVIL Suite can be deployed in less than 2 hours on a completely isolated environment.
ANVIL Speech
Defence and public safety personnel around the world routinely need to overcome language barriers in order to work effectively with others to accomplish their objectives. However, basic language training is not always adequate for these tasks, nor are interpreters always available, appropriate, or trustworthy in every situation. Furthermore, traditional consumer-grade translation systems typically fall short in capturing the nuance of specific regional dialects, since their primary goal is to provide “one-size-fits-all” solutions for commonly-spoken languages. Moreover, their lack of full “voice-to-voice” solution is a limitation since it cannot always be assumed that the other party in the conversation is literate, and their reliance on network connectivity is a non-starter for most defence and public safety applications.
ANVIL Speech, an Android-based voice-to-voice translation solution which effectively turns every user into a multi-linguist, even in rare regional dialects. Our solution allows users to conduct real-time face-to-face conversations across language barriers without the need for internet connectivity or human interpreters. Our models have been specifically tuned to run performantly on Low-SWaP devices, and can be optimized for specific vocabularies and use cases (e.g. negotiations, diplomacy, standard questioning protocols).
Our platform captures all data resulting from any conversation, including the original audio, the corresponding transcriptions, the translations, and metadata such as the time and place where the conversation took place. This data can easily be replicated to a centralized location for later analysis, and also used as a positive feedback loop to improve models over time.
This product currently supports English, French, Persian Farsi, Levantine Arabic, Ukrainian, and Russian. Several other languages are currently under active development or consideration for future releases.
